Finger sizes change over the years, and rings need resizing for a comfortable fit. Rings are made smaller by cutting out a section, shaping the ring to the smaller size, and soldering the gap. Rings are made larger by cutting the ring, reshaping the ring to the size required, and adding extra metal to fill the gap.
We advise our clients to take off their jewellery whilst showering or swimming. This is because a ring can easily become loose and slip off whilst immersed. Another reason why we recommend taking jewellery off is because the combination of soaps, conditioners and exfoliants can build up under the setting and cause your stone to appear duller and loose its shine.
Protecting and taking care of your ring is the best way to keeping your investment safe over the years. Depending on the style of ring, type of metal and stones used in the ring design, your ring may naturally be long-lasting or it may require a bit of extra care when worn every day. Platinum is renowned for its hardness, strength and resilience. Other metals may need a bit more care but still stand the test of time. We recommend to all our clients to come in and visit our showroom where we can have a close look at how the piece is wearing and if any necessary repairs or maintenance is required.
